Bollywood and Marathi actor Shreyas Talpade, known for his roles in hits like Om Shanti Om, the Golmaal series, and Poster Boys, reportedly experienced a heart attack on Thursday evening. The 47-year-old actor had been shooting for his upcoming film, Welcome to the Jungle, throughout the day and complained of chest pain upon returning home. Rushed by his wife to Bellevue Hospital in Andheri West, reports state that he collapsed upon arrival.
Hospital authorities confirmed his admission, stating, “Shreyas Talpade is admitted. He was brought late in the evening. His health update is awaited.” Talpade underwent an angioplasty on Thursday night. Surprisingly, while filming Welcome to the Jungle, he seemed in good health and didn’t display any discomfort on set, even participating in a minor action sequence that day.
In addition to his role in Welcome to the Jungle, Talpade is set to lend his voice to Tollywood star Allu Arjun’s character, Pushpa Raj, in the highly-anticipated pan-India action drama, Pushpa: The Rule. Fans and industry well-wishers are taking to social media to send their heartfelt wishes for the actor’s speedy recovery.
