Bheemadevarapally Branchi, directed by Ramesh Cheppala, hit theaters today. Let’s take a look at how the movie fares.

Story:

Jampanna (Anji Valguman) leads a simple life in Bheemadevarapally with his mother Sammakka (Rajavva) and sister Swaroopa (Sai Prasanna Kondra). One day, Sammakka receives Rs. 15 lakhs in her bank account, which Jampanna spends without knowing the shocking truth behind it. The revelation of the truth and its consequences form the crux of the story.

Plus Points:

Anji Valguman, known for his role in Intinti Ramayanam, delivers an impressive performance with his natural acting skills and comedic timing.

Rajavva portrays the character of Sammakka convincingly and delivers a solid performance. The rest of the cast also does justice to their roles.

The film offers some enjoyable comedy scenes throughout, especially in the first half. Additionally, a couple of songs are pleasant to listen to.

Minus Points:

The story falters in its execution. While the first half progresses well, the second half deviates and becomes dull. The screenplay, particularly in the latter half, feels sluggish.

The filmmakers connect the mistaken deposit of money with a political angle that lacks relevance to the story, which is a weak point.

The love pair, Abhi (Abhiram Volla) and Kaveri (Rupa Srinivas), have minimal significance in the film. Their scenes are scarce, and Sudhakar Reddy Kethiri’s character could have been better developed.

Director Ramesh Cheppala, who is also the scriptwriter, should have focused on crafting a well-written script with a faster narrative.

Technical Aspects:

Ramesh Cheppala could have paid more attention to the story and screenplay, as they are the film’s weaker aspects. Bheemadevarapally Branchi would have benefited from a better-paced narration, especially in the second half.

The music and cinematography are satisfactory. The editor should have trimmed unnecessary scenes in the latter half to enhance the overall viewing experience. The production values are average.

Verdict:

On the whole, Bheemadevarapally Branchi is a tedious and underwhelming comedy-drama. Despite Anji’s standout performance, the lackluster story and slow-paced narration may test the audience’s patience. It is advisable to explore alternative movie options rather than opting for this one.
