Bellamkonda Sreenivas, who has a decent following in Telugu is all set to try his luck in Bollywood. With his dubbed movies doing good on YouTube, he is all set for a straight Hindi movie with the blockbuster film Chatrapathi, which starred Prabhas.
The movie, directed by renowned filmmaker VV Vinayak, was launched in July 2021 and has recently made headlines once again with its release date announcement. Chatrapathi will hit screens globally on May 12, 2023, with Sreenivas reprising Prabhas’ role.
The movie’s makers have released the first-look poster, which features Sreenivas in a beastly avatar, flaunting his muscular physique while standing in water with a copper bowl in hand. He sports sacred threads around his neck and arm, and his back is covered with injuries, indicating the aggression of his character. Nushrratt Bharuccha will play the female lead in the film, with a star-studded supporting cast, including Sahil Vaid, Amit Nair, Rajendra Gupta, and others.
The movie has completed production and is currently undergoing post- production work. The original scriptwriter KV Vijayendra Prasad, who penned the original Chatrapathi, has also written the remake. Dr Jayantilal Gada of Pen Studios is producing the project, while Dhaval Jayantilal Gada and Aksshay Jayantilal Gada of Pen Marudhar Cine Entertainment will distribute the movie worldwide. The filmmakers have not compromised on the budget and have made the film on a massive scale. Tanishk Bagchi is the music composer for the movie.
