Decades after the supestars NTR, ANR followed by Krishna, Shoban Babu and Krishnam Raju, two superstars in Tollywood have competed against each other. They are Chiranjeevi and Balakrishna who pitted against each other from the 1980s to till date.
Though the actors have shared the limelight together, their fans remained firmly divided. Though both Chiranjeevi and Balakrishna enjoyed superstardom at the box office during the 1980s to early 2000s, Chiranjeevi completely dominated Balakrishna due to the kind of movies he did and had a huge fan base because of his dance moves.
Though fan wars still continue about who is a big star, Tollywood veteran director Geetha Krishna gave his opinion on the same. In an interview, the senior director said that Balakrishna can never beat Chiranjeevi in terms of stardom. He said that Chiranjeevi earned stardom through hard work and talent and on the other hand Balakrishna entered the industry with his father’s support.
Geetha Krishna had some offbeat movies like Sankeerthana, Keechurallu, and Kokila. However, he wasn’t a big commercially successful director. He is currently running a film institute and has been sharing his experiences in the film industry through interviews.
