Vijay Deverakonda has been grappling with a string of unsuccessful films for quite some time, and even Samantha’s most recent movie, ‘Shaakunthalam,’ met with a major setback. The same fate seems to have befallen director Shiva Nirvana, as his previous film, ‘Tuck Jagadish,’ didn’t fare well commercially. All three of them were desperately in need of a hit and had their hopes pinned on ‘Khushi.’
When ‘Khushi’ was released recently, it received mixed reviews, but the team had a robust PR strategy and managed to secure positive feedback from leading websites. While the movie performed decently over the weekend, its collections began to decline from Monday onwards. Despite Vijay Deverakonda’s announcement to provide financial support to 100 families, it didn’t translate into a boost in the movie’s box office earnings.
Things took a turn for the worse for ‘Khushi’ after the release of ‘Miss Shetty Mr. Polishetty’ and ‘Jawan.’ With ‘Jawan’ garnering unanimous praise, ‘Khushi’ might conclude its theatrical run sooner than expected and may not attain the status of a hit.
