Anushka About Prabhas And Marriage

After an almost five-year hiatus, superstar heroine Anushka Shetty, who gained nationwide fame with “Baahubali,” is set to make her direct theatrical comeback. Her upcoming film, “Miss Shetty Mr. Polishetty,” is scheduled for release this Thursday, September 7th. She gave an exclusive interview before the movie release and shared some interesting news.

Q) Hi Anushka! You’re known for your versatile roles, and “Miss Shetty Mr. Polishetty” marks a return to a breezy rom-com. How did this project come about, and what led you to take on this character?

Anushka: I have to thank director Mahesh Garu and UV Creations for bringing such a unique script to me. They had faith that I could do justice to the character, and I’m grateful for their support and vision.

Q) This film features a somewhat unconventional character—a girl trying to conceive before marriage. Did you have any reservations about accepting such a role, considering your star status, and were you concerned about how your fans might react?

Anushka: Initially, I didn’t hear the dialogue version of the script. I loved the idea right away—the director’s vision, the lead characters, Siddu and Anvita, and their beautiful journey. I didn’t hesitate because I felt confident about the role. Moreover, it’s a clean film with plenty of emotions and humor.

Q) In the movie, your character is a chef. Do you have any cooking skills yourself, and how did you prepare for this role?

Anushka: While shooting, we had chefs on set who prepared the dishes. However, it’s important to note that the story isn’t solely about cooking. It delves into the character’s dedication, professionalism, and focus. The story unfolds various aspects, including her journey as a Master Chef in London. As for my own cooking skills, I always joke that I can feed a hungry stomach but not necessarily please the taste buds.

Q) Speaking of food, what’s your favorite dish that your mom cooks for you?

Anushka: My mom’s Neer Dosa, Chicken curry, shrimp curry, and various Mangalorean dishes are some of my favorites. Whatever she cooks turns out exceptionally well. When we were growing up, she could cook for a crowd of 100 people.

Q) The film’s title, “Miss Shetty Mr. Polishetty,” is quite unique and intriguing. How did you feel having a film named after your very own surname?

Anushka: Initially, the movie had a different title, but during the launch, someone posted “Miss Shetty with Mr. Shetty,” and it caught our attention. We found it creatively appealing, so we decided to keep it. The title reflects the story of Siddu and Anvita, two central characters in the film.

Q) You’re a well-established Pan India heroine with super stardom, and “Miss Shetty Mr. Polishetty” pairs you with a younger actor, Naveen Polishetty. What were your thoughts when you learned about this pairing?

Anushka: I didn’t have any specific thoughts about the age or experience of my co-star. In this industry, I started from the basics and worked my way up. So, for me, it felt normal. What matters most is who plays the character, and it’s ultimately the director and production house’s choice. When they told me about Naveen, I found it interesting. Good pairings are crucial in storytelling, and Naveen is incredibly talented. He portrayed his role exceptionally well, and I couldn’t imagine anyone else in that character.

Q) We did ask Naveen the same question and now it’s your turn; Is there romance between your character and Naveen’s?

Anushka: Yes, there’s romance in the film, along with a mix of emotions and heartwarming moments. “Miss Shetty Mr. Polishetty” has a fresh, new-age script that I don’t want to reveal too much about. I’d encourage everyone to watch it on the silver screen when it releases on September 7th.

Q) You’re known for actively promoting other films on social media, from small to big productions. You do it because you love it, or you were asked to post?

Anushka: I’ve never promoted films out of obligation. I genuinely share what I like about the projects and the people involved. It’s about celebrating the journey because we’re all part of this industry together. When I started my career, receiving good wishes and praise felt wonderful, making me more comfortable in the industry. It’s a joint family, and we have to support each other. People like Chiranjeevi, ANR, NTR, they’re all legends, who supported each other. Today Chiranjeevi garu watched the film and appreciated us big time. So we too should continue to support each other, especially in the digital age when storytelling is evolving.

Q) How do you perceive online trolling and abuse on social media, especially when it comes from fans of different actors or celebrities?

Anushka: I’m not very active on social media personally. My fan pages are managed by my fans. However, I do visit social media during promotions. I don’t support trolling at all. It’s important to empathize and understand that we’re not flawless. Before abusing/trolling someone, we’ve to first think by wearing their shoes. Everyone has their issues and sensitivities. Trolling isn’t limited to India; it’s a global issue. With easy internet access, youngsters sometimes make unfortunate choices, quitting school and harming their careers. We should all strive to be better human beings.

Q) Tollywood has been achieving great heights, with Allu Arjun winning a National Award for “Pushpa”, “RRR” grabbing the Oscar and your involvement in the groundbreaking “Baahubali.” How do you feel about being part of this industry’s growth and success?

Anushka: It’s a source of immense pride and a true blessing. It’s overwhelming to see people close to you working so hard and gaining global recognition for their efforts. Being a part of “Baahubali” and experiencing the industry’s growth firsthand is a memory that I’ll cherish for the rest of my life. It’s a testament to the vision of individuals like Rajamouli, and I have immense respect for him for entrusting me with that character.

Q) You share a close bond with Rajamouli’s family. After “RRR’s” Oscar win, what were your thoughts and what did you say to them?

Anushka: When “RRR” won the Oscar, it felt like someone in our own home had achieved the award. It’s a rare and special feeling. I remember congratulating Rajamouli, Ram Charan, Allu Arjun, and others when they won awards.

Q) Your career has seen a transition from glamorous roles to more subject-oriented ones. What kinds of characters or projects do you see yourself taking on in the future?

Anushka: I have two upcoming projects, but the announcements will depend on the producers’ timing. I’m also working on two Malayalam films, which are pan-Indian projects set to release in seven languages. They involve fantasy elements and feature intriguing characters.

Q) Fans want to know when you’re gonna pair with Prabhas again

Anushka: That decision isn’t in my hands. While I know that fans love our pairing, it ultimately depends on a great story and vision. I hope someone writes a compelling script and character that both Prabhas and I find appealing.

Q) Lastly, the nation wants to know, when is Anushka Shetty getting married

Anushka: (Laughs out loudly) Honestly, I don’t have a specific answer to that. I’d like it to happen organically and at the right time. Marriage is something that will occur when it’s meant to, and I believe it has its own timing.
