Akshaye Khanna Wraps Filming For Prasanth Varma’s Mahakali, Extensive Last Schedule Begins In Hyderabad

On the occasion of Akshaye Khanna’s birthday, filmmaker Prasanth Varma unveiled a new still from the sets of Mahakali, giving an exciting update from the much-anticipated next chapter in the Prasanth Varma Cinematic Universe (PVCU). Produced by RK Duggal and Riwaz Ramesh Duggal under RKD Studios, and shaped under the supervision of Prasanth Varma as showrunner with Puja Kolluru helming, the film is steadily rising as one of the most ambitious and awaited mythological ventures in Indian cinema.

The team has successfully wrapped 100 days of shooting, while the final 40-day schedule has commenced in Hyderabad. Akshaye Khanna has also completed filming for his pivotal role as Shukracharya. Meanwhile, multi-studio VFX work is progressing at full pace as the makers prepare for an official release date announcement, expected to arrive soon.

Bhoomi Shetty plays the titular lead in the movie, and the first-look poster presented her in a fierce, divine form. Akshaye Khanna’s Tollywood debut as Shukracharya has generated tremendous buzz, with his first look also receiving strong praise across social media. Now that he has wrapped his portions, anticipation surrounding his role and its impact on the PVCU has only intensified.

With music by Smaran Sai, cinematography by Suresh Ragutu, and production design by Sri Nagendra Tangala, Mahakali is being crafted as a rich visual and spiritual experience.
