Akshay Kumar has a line-up of films under varying stages of production. A while ago, he announced the launch of Ram Setu. The film will now be Akshay Kumar’s Diwali gift for his fans in 2022.
The shooting of the film will commence mid next year and the film will release for Diwali. The star has no less than nine films on the floor and is surely the busiest actor in Bollywood. For starters he has Sooryavanshi gearing up for release. Then, he has spy thriller Bell Bottom, mythological film Prithviraj, Atrangi Re, Raksha Bandhan, a yet-to-be titled film with Vashu Bhagnani and director Mudassar Aziz, a film with Mission Mangal director Jagan Sakti and now Abhishek Sharma’s Ram Setu.
Usually, the Diwali slot is booked for Bollywood badshah King Khan. However, Shah Rukh Khan hasn’t been releasing on this day for some time now. So, looks like Akshay Kumar has taken over the slot. He announced Ram Setu on occasion of Diwali and now reports from Bollywood say the film will release on Diwali 2022.
The news is that a major portion of the film will be shot in the birth place of Lord Ram, Ayodhya. As per Bollywood circles, the Mission Mangal actor happened to meet up with UP CM Yogi Adityanath for dinner on Tuesday night, who was all praise of him for doing films with social messages. It is known that Akshay has been doing a slew of films with messages that are in keeping with the messages being promoted by the ruling BJP government.
Director of Ram Setu Abhishek Sharma has Suraj Pe Mangal Bhari in his repertoire. Akshay Kumar is also part-producing Ram Setu.
