Akshay Kumar has been facing a string of failures in the post-pandemic phase. His recent films struggle to even garner a basic opening at the box office, let alone achieving success. His upcoming action-adventure film, “Bade Miyan Chote Miyan,” starring Tiger Shroff, also going through a rough patch, is his bet for redemption. Scheduled for an April 5 release during Eid, the film, directed by Ali Abbas Zafar, promises high-octane action and was shot in stunning global locations. Prithviraj Sukumaran, from ‘Salaar,’ portrays the antagonist.
However, the film faces a challenge with NTR’s highly anticipated “Devara” also releasing on the same date. Initially perceived as no competition, the first glimpse of “Devara” unveiled a technical marvel, impressing audiences nationwide. NTR’s impeccable Hindi and his post-RRR aura have elevated the anticipation levels. Considering how Prabhas’ “Salaar” affected SRK’s “Dunki” in Hindi markets, the team behind “Bade Miyan Chote Miyan” is now reconsidering clashing with “Devara.” They fear a potential dent in their film’s box office performance given the buzz surrounding “Devara” after its glimpse release.
