Akshay Kumar has given his fans yet another reason to celebrate this Diwali, by announcing the movie Ram Setu.
Of late, Akshay Kumar is being labelled a pro-BJP man, as he has been doing film after film promoting the policies of the ruling BJP. Films like Toilet, Mission Mangal have reiterated this belief. He has also done ads promoting Now, comes the news that Akshay will be doing Ram Setu. Taking to social media, Akshay has posted, “This Deepawali, let us endeavour to keep alive the ideals of Ram in the consciousness of all Bharatiyas by building a bridge (setu) that will connect generations to come. Taking this mammoth task ahead, here is our humble attempt – #RamSetu. Wishing you & yours a very Happy Deepawali!”
The film will be directed by Abhishek Sharma and it will be released by Cape of Good Films. The poster shows Akshay wearing a saffron scarf around his neck and an image of Lord Ram behind in the waters (read Indian Ocean). There is also a prominent caption Myth or Reality? — hinting at the doubts raised about the existence of the Ram setu between India and Sri Lanka from the times of Ramayana.
But Akshay also has a lot of other films from across genres in various stages of production. He has Bell Bottom, Sooryavanshi, Prithvi Raj, Atrangi Re, Raksha Bandhan to name a few.
