The Crime Branch team in Pimpri Chinchwad has carried out a successful operation to uncover a sex racket that was operating within a luxurious five-star hotel located in the Wakad area of Pune. The police have arrested a Bhojpuri actress, a model, and an agent, all of whom were involved in the illicit prostitution business.
Acting on a tip-off, the police conducted a raid on Friday evening at the hotel premises where they found two women who were working as actresses and models. The accused individuals had been luring women into prostitution by offering them money. They charged clients Rs 25,000 for an entire night and Rs 15,000 for an afternoon’s service.
Police Inspector Devendra Chavan said that they had deployed an undercover officer who contacted the agent online, pretending to be a potential customer. The agent, unaware of the ruse, instructed the officer to book a room at the five-star hotel and even shared photographs of the actress and model. Upon confirming the authenticity of the undercover officer, it became evident that the agent and the two women were involved in the sex racket.
A swift raid was executed at the five-star hotel, leading to the arrest of the agent and the two women involved in the flesh trade activities.
