Aamir Khan, one of the biggest Superstars of Indian cinema, is making a significant entry into the world of Kollywood, marking another instance of the diminishing boundaries between North and South Indian cinema. Inspired by the remarkable success of South Indian films like “Baahubali,” “RRR,” “Pushpa,” “Kantara,” and others, many Bollywood stars, including Emraan Hashmi, Arjun Rampal, Jackie Shroff, Sanjay Dutt, and more, are venturing into South Indian cinema. The latest exciting reports suggest that Aamir Khan is set to make his Kollywood debut.
It is rumored that Aamir Khan is in discussions to star in either “Thalapathy Vijay’s 68” or “Thani Oruvan 2,” and there’s even speculation that he might appear in both films. AGS Productions, a prominent production house, is backing two highly anticipated projects: “Thalapathy 68,” directed by Venkat Prabhu and featuring Vijay, and “Thani Oruvan 2,” directed by Mohan Raja and starring Jayam Ravi.
Interestingly, the cast for both films, apart from the lead actor, has been kept under wraps. Speculation is growing after Aishwarya Kalpathi, from AGS Productions, recently met with Aamir Khan, sparking rumors of his potential involvement, possibly in an antagonist role, in one of these films. Aishwarya Kalpathi shared a photo of her meeting with Aamir Khan, expressing her excitement at meeting the renowned actor.
Kollywood fans are equally thrilled, especially since stars like Nayanthara, Vijay Sethupathi, and Yogi Babu are already making their Bollywood debut in Shah Rukh Khan’s “Jawan,” directed by Atlee. This cross-pollination of talent between North and South Indian cinema is creating a buzz of excitement in the film industry.
