Yash Raj Films is credible and most-respected film-makers in Bollywood. You name it, and they have films from all genres in their repertoire of films. During the times of late Yash Chopra, they had a good number of romantic films apart from action films.
However, with changing times, tastes of audiences and the international platforms on which their films release, Yash Raj has been making high-octane action films for the past few years. Of course, as a production house, they also allow a lot of new and promising directors to showcase their talent. And these films are across genres.
But the big-ticket films are reserved for the A-listed stars of Bollywood and are made on a huge canvass to show-off the reach of both YRF and the stars involved.
Right now, YRF has started shooting of Siddharth Anand’s Pathan, starring King Khan Shah Rukh Khan. The film will have an extended cameo of Salman Khan, aka agent Tiger (from Ek Tha Tiger and Tiger Zinda Hai). Then in all probability, in the yet to be announced Tiger 3, Shah Rukh will play the cameo as Pathan.
And the latest news is that Shah Rukh, Salman will be playing cameos in War 2 as Pathan and Tiger, which will have Hrithik reprising his role from War.
This is not it. To spice up things a bit and to add oodles of glamour, Deepika Padukone and Katrina Kaif, both of who play special agents in Pathan and Tiger series respectively, will also be a part of the three above-mentioned films.
Isn’t it the biggest casting coup in the industry? And who else can pull it off than the big daddy of Indian cinema, Yash Raj Films, which is completing 50 glorious in Indian cinema.
